Where to start

To become a candidate, you must…

  • Be between the ages of 18 and 28 for the Miss America system
  • Be between the ages of 14 and 18 for the MAO Teen system
  • Be a United States citizen
  • Meet residency requirements for competing in your respective city or state
  • Be able to meet the time commitment and job responsibilities as set forth by the local, state and national competition(s) in which you compete
  • Not be a candidate, titleholder, or representative of a competing program to the Miss America and MAOTeen programs

Miss Sacramento County

Local Titles for 2026

This year, we’re offering three Local Miss Titles: Miss Sacramento County, Miss Capitol City, and Miss Sacramento County’s Teen.

Requirements for Local Title Delegates:

  • Attendance: Delegates must attend at least one orientation and Commitment Day and are permitted up to three excused absences from the preparation and rehearsal schedule.
  • Entry Fee: Submit either a $375 entry fee or a Local Title Delegate full-page ad purchase valued at $375. (Note: This ad rate is specific to Local Titles.)

Benefits for Local Title Holders:

  • Room and Board: Local Title Holders will receive sponsored room and board for the Miss California Competition, provided by our organization.
  • Travel and Wardrobe Stipend: The Miss Sacramento County Organization will also provide a small stipend to assist with travel and wardrobe expenses for the Miss California Competition.

If a delegate wins a Local Miss Title, they are required to:

  • Compete in Miss California: Participate in the Miss California Competition from June 16-21 to receive any scholarship winnings.
  • Uphold Brand Standards: Represent the MSC Organization by upholding its brand standards and making one public appearance each month during their reign.
  • Return for Next Year’s Competition: Attend the Miss Sacramento County Competition the following year.

Miss Sacramento County

Open Miss Titles for 2026

We’re thrilled to offer two Open Titles this year: Miss Pacific Coast and Miss Northern California!

Requirements for Open Title Delegates:

  • Zoom Call: Attendance at the November 6th Zoom Call is highly recommended. (Register at the bottom of the page for details.)
  • Entry Fee: $450 entry fee or a full-page ad purchase valued at $450. (This ad rate applies specifically to Open Titles.) Due December 7th.
  • Headshot: A headshot of you, 5 x 7 portrait orientation exported at 300 dpi is due on December 7th. Background should be a solid color. Head and shoulders should be included with plenty of space around the head.

Workshop & Rehearsal Schedule: Open Title delegates are not required to attend the full workshop and rehearsal schedule, though they’re welcome to join any sessions. They are, however, required to attend:

  • Show Dress Rehearsal: TBD
  • Competition Day: All events on TBD
